I read about a girl named Dani who is not happy. I get unhappy sometimes. I got unhappy when I was writing this book review because it didn’t look right. But I felt better when my daddy brought me a clipboard. In this book, the character, Dani, has to calm down, too. She is so sad because she was missing Ella. That is her friend who moved to Northbrook. There is pinching in this story. That is bad! Dani has to learn how to feel better. She plays with Susie, Victor, Irma, Gabriel, and other children, too. Dani doesn’t want to feel sad. “She doesn’t like unhappy. It makes her go to pieces. That’s why she makes new endings for stories with unhappy endings.” My favorite part of this book was when Dani and Ella are both writing in their books together. I loved it when Dani wrote, “I am always especially happy when I am with Ella…” and when Ella wrote, “I am always especially happy when I am with Dani…” I am going to write a story about my friend Genevieve and another girl named Daphne. They can write in books together, too!

This is a good book for people who want to think about friendship.
