In Mr. Lemoncello’s latest game, Kyle and his friends must race around town to find clues Mr. Lemoncello has left for certain groups without being disqualified. Kyle and his team manage to make it to the very last round, but then Kyle discovers something about Mr. Lemoncello that could be ruinous to Mr. Lemoncello’s career as a game maker. Can Kyle and his friends work with other teams and clear Mr. Lemoncello’s name, before it’s too late?

Of the Lemoncello books, the first is definitely the best, but this was also really entertaining. It was fun to see Kyle and his friends move around the town and even out of the state as they tried to figure out their puzzles. The author also included some interesting historical facts that were seamlessly slipped into the plot. The biggest negatives to the book were that the villain kid was even more villainous than before – meaning, more annoying – and Kyle himself was still really annoying. But the other characters were enjoyable, and their teamwork was, too. This book stands fine on its own, but it will probably be most appealing to fans of the first book.
