Mr. Goat finds out that it is Valentine’s Day and he decides he must show his first love how much she means to him. Mr. Goat goes and buys a mixed weed bouquet in a rusty can, rotten eggs wrapped in a red ribbon and even wrote a song. Mr. Goat knocks at the door, sings his song, and we see that his mother is Mr. Goat’s Valentine.

I loved Mr. Goat’s Valentine. I think it will make a great story to read on Valentine’s Day every year. I thought it was funny that he is a goat, so he bought a bouquet of weeds, with crabgrass and ragweed. When I was reading, I wondered if goats actually like to eat rotten eggs. I loved the illustrations, there are so many details to look at and I even liked the heart shaped doorknob. I thought the rotten egg was funny and liked how it was drawn with a green shell and black insides, it makes it look extra rotten and gross. I was surprised at the end when Mr. Goat’s Valentine was his mother.
