We recycle things at my house, so reading Milk and Juice: A Recycling Romance made sense to me. This story is about a milk and a juice carton who fall in love with each other while in the fridge. One day, the juice is taken away and put in the recycling container! The juice is sad because it is taken away from the milk. The juice is changed into different things each time it goes to the recycling center, but it keeps looking for the milk. Will it ever find the milk again?!

Milk and Juice is a silly story, because plastics aren’t alive and definitely can’t fall in love with each other. I like how hard the juice tries to find the milk each time it changes into a different plastic. I didn’t know before what happens to the things my parents take away and that they can turn into other kinds of things than what we used them as. At the end of the book, the recycling process is explained and it is cool to see how it happens.

Milk and Juice is a good book for any age, but older kids who understand love might understand the story a little better.
