Mightier Than the Sword: Rebels, Reformers, and Revolutionaries Who Changed the World Through Writing
This book is phenomenal! This shows how so many revolutionaries made a difference, either using their words, or actions in a positive way to change the world around them and make history. Mightier than the sword features people like Shakespeare who changed the world with his writing, and literature, Ada Lovelace who combined science and imagination, and Anne Frank who documented what it was like during a very scary time. The text is just challenging enough but not too easy for me to read without a parent.
I like how each person has their own illustration and a two-page spread about how they changed the world, along with few fun facts. This book would be great for researching a particular person to learn more about their accomplishments. My favorite part in the back of the books is the writing tips on how to be a better writer. Writing is not my favorite subject, but I feel somewhat inspired after reading about some of the revolutionary writers in this book. I like the quotations for the resources in the back of the book that was used to create this book, as those could easily be used to research each revolutionary more.
