Merry Merry Holly Holly (Cork and Fuzz)
A possum and a muskrat are best friends, but the muskrat likes to think and the possum doesn’t like to think at all. The muskrat says, “Let’s think about this day because this day is special.” They go to a tree with tweeters, and the tweeters chirp, so the possum makes up a song. They don’t know why the day is special, and the tweeters are too loud for the muskrat to think. So then they go to a tree with squirtles, which throw acorns at them. Finally they find a tree that is quiet and it has lots of twinkly lights on it. They sit there and they sing their merry merry song for the special day.
I like this book because I like the friends that they make and how they are really nice to each other. I like the pictures because it is in winter and the friends get to walk in the snow and look up at the trees that don’t have any leaves. My favorite picture is where they are under the green tree with all the lights. It’s funny that the muskrat is trying to find a ‘piece of quiet’ so he can think!
