Memoirs of a Parrot
A parrot is writing his autobiography. He gets bought by a guy named Todd who plays the ukulele and is really annoying. The parrot has a bad attitude. He says he’d rather do something really, really bad like wear a sweater of ants or kiss a rattlesnake, instead of hanging out with Todd. His friend, Tik Tok, thinks he should make the best of it. The guy thinks the parrot is dumb. The parrot thinks the guy is dumb. There’s a fire from a cracker getting stuck in the toaster. Todd runs out of the room. Will Todd save the parrot? Will Todd get better at the ukulele? Read the book to find out.
This book is very funny. The pictures are great. You can see the character’s emotions. I like the end. I’d like to read more books in this series. People who like pets and animals will like this book. It is easy to read. I can read this book myself.
The author says you should not buy a parrot. You should adopt a rescued one. If you adopt a really old one, you won’t have to keep it forever. Parrots can live fifty years! Saying “Polly, want a cracker?” to a parrot is really annoying. They are emotional and smart.
