Meditation for Kids: How to Clear Your Head and Calm Your Mind
If you’re looking for a fun and relaxing introduction to meditation, then Meditation for Kids is the book for you. With thirteen guided meditations, there’s plenty for everybody. The book comes in four parts. Part one is what is meditation, part two is sitting meditation, part three is meditation with movement and part four is meditation on the cycles of nature. After each meditation is explained, they tell you how to teach it to your parents which is kind of fun. This book tells you what time of day, for how long, and how many times a week to do the exercises.
I don’t think kids will reach for the book based on the cover, but there are some funny line illustrations throughout the book to keep interest. This book is for young kids starting meditation and probably best when used with a parent helper as it’s hard to practice the meditation if you have to keep opening your eyes and reading what to think of next. I really liked the chart at the end of the book, so I can quickly lookup a seated meditation for outdoors, etc and found it useful as a start into meditating.
