Max: Best Friend. Hero. Marine.
This book is about a dog named Max and a kid named Justin. Max is a military K9 and his handler, Justin’s brother, died in Afghanistan. Justin’s parents took Max in because he was the closest thing to Justin’s brother. Since the dog went through a tragic time of his life, he went kind of crazy. So Justin trained him again and they become friends. But none of them expected harder times and adventures to come.
I like this book because it’s about a K9, and because it is adventurous and nerve wracking. I was addicted to this book because I wanted to know what happens next. A kid over nine would love this book. It is a little sad at some parts (I started crying and I am eleven). I liked that the book was the perfect size so it did not get boring. Anyone who loves dogs would love this book. I really like that the main character is a German Shepherd because I have one as a pet. The book is based on a true story.
