Marty Pants #1: Do Not Open!
Marty Pants is about a boy who is an artist but uses his talent to get bad grades in school. He draws comics for his reports and gets a D- on every paper that he does. But one day he finds a paper in his backpack that says, “An alien is observing you.” Soon after that, he finds out that his teacher is an alien and wants to take over the world! Marty has to stop his teacher and deal with his VERY annoying older sister at the same time.
The plot of this story is like the book Big Nate but a little less funny. Most of the characters are really funny. Marty learns quite a lot of important lessons in the book, like you sow what you reap. There is non-stop action. The book is both a chapter book and a comic book. One thing that the author could work on is not jumping around between subjects.
Most of the time in the book, Marty has his own idea of what he should do in his homework papers. This book would be good for kids ages seven to eleven who are fans of Big Nate and funny books.
