Marley Dias is an inspirational young woman who in sixth grade created a charity to collect children’s books and give them out to children who do not have books of their own. Marley grew up in New Jersey, and she noticed growing up that she didn’t see a lot of books with black characters. Marley started a charity called #1000blackgirlbooks. After starting her campaign, Marley got to meet people from all over the world; she even got to meet Michelle Obama, who was the First Lady of the United States, and go on a tour for literacy.

This book was not only about Marley’s charity but also about her love of books and reading. Marley also explains how important reading is and how to look for characters in what you’re reading. The book also includes a list of some of the titles Marley has found that have black girl main characters. Marley shows the steps that you need to start making your own changes. One of the main things that she talks about is finding something that is important to you and making a difference. This book was very inspirational. It showed how one person can really make a difference.
