Mama: A World of Mothers and Motherhood

Mama: A World of Mothers and Motherhood is a depressing collection that would make a horrible gift for most mothers. I suppose the book description is fairly accurate, although the depth of emotions expressed are done so to the extreme and not in a celebratory or triumphant way. It’s certainly not the kind of book you’d want your children to happen across, as it would create all sorts of unnecessary questions about if they’re wanted, viewed as a burden, etc.

The book itself is beautifully produced, and it’s clear that much thought and care went into the development and production of it. I just don’t know who would enjoy reading it. Floris publications are usually spectacular; this one leaves much to be desired.
