Friends of Jack and Annie who are familiar with their adventures and their tree house will enjoy this book. This book has a lot of helpful tips to show the reader how to survive a harsh disaster like not having enough water, running into dangerous animals like lions, tigers, bears, and octopi, being lost, enduring lots of heat, or making it through an earthquake or tornado. The tips are common sense ideas that are simple enough for kids to follow. The tips are related to the Magic Tree House books and how Jack and Annie survived the dangers in them but are not the same.

I’ve read all the Magic Tree House books and so liked everything about the book. But even if you haven’t read any of the books the tips would be interesting. It’s a very good book. I liked the tips, the pictures, and the compass in the cover although I wish I could pull out the compass and use it. This book would be good for fans of the Magic Tree House series.
