Magic Tree House Fact Tracker #34: Dogsledding and Extreme Sports: A nonfiction companion to Magic Tree House #54: Balto of the Blue Dawn
Dogsledding and Extreme Sports Dogsledding and Extreme Sports is a non-fiction companion book to Balto of the Blue Dawn. It tells you more dog sledding and other extreme sports like rock climbing, long distance swimming, and marathons. There is also information about snowboarding, skateboarding, motocross, and surfing. I learned about Extreme Sports Events like the Iditarod and X Games. I like how this book has lots of great photographs, pictures, and cool facts. The book also tells you other books and websites where you can learn about extreme sports and athletes. I especially liked reading the list of commands that mushers use to train their dogs.
It was interesting to learn more about the people who like to do extreme sports. They are brave and keep going even when they are tired or hurting. These people have to do lots of training to learn how to be safe and ready to keep going. The book tells more about several famous extreme sport athletes. You can also use the index in the back of the book to find all of the information in the book about each extreme sport topic they discuss.
