Ninjas and Samurai: A Non-Fiction Companion to Magic Tree House #5: Night of the Ninjas is another Fact Tracker book. This book tells you about Ninjas – the way they lived – and samurai, too. Ninjas were secret fighters for samurai warlords called Daimyo. Samurai were like the knights in Europe. They both lived in Japan. Ninjas began training when they were five years old. The training was very strict. They learned self-control, how to fight, and how to be silent. Samurai grew up in strict houses and some of their rules included getting up early and going to sleep early. They were also expected to show respect to all adults, dress neatly, have clean rooms, and tell the truth. They had to be honorable.

The book is really good in telling you about ninjas and samurai. The drawings and photographs help you to understand what is being talked about. The book also helps you understand the Magic Tree House book that it is related to better. I liked this book because it gave good information and was written in an understandable way. This book would be good for fans of the Magic Tree House books or for those who want to learn about ninjas and samurai.
