In the book Luck of the Titanic, Valora is determined to reunite with her twin brother, Jamie, who has been overseas mining coal for several years. Valora has been planning to take Jamie to America on the Titanic so that they both can become circus performers in New York. Her plans are ruined when she finds out about the Chinese Exclusion Act, which keeps her one step away from her dreams. Valora is determined to get on the Titanic, but she has to improvise if she wants to secure her future in America with Jamie. As a stowaway, she should lie low, but Valora is determined to find Jamie. Little does Valora know that Jamie has different dreams, having found a new way of life with new people.

This historical fiction book will keep you hooked until the very end. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a forgotten perspective on the Titanic, which has been vividly brought to life by Stacey Lee. This book will keep you emotionally attached while you witness the unfolding of the Titanic’s demise.
