Loula wants to play with her brothers but they do not want to play with her. So Loula asks her parents to make a sister for her. They say that making a sister is like making a cake. Loula asks what ingredients she needs, and her parents tell her the ingredients! They tell her some ingredients like a mama and a papa, and chocolate, butterflies in the stomach, and a full moon.

Loula uses the help of Gilbert (the driver) to go looking around the city for the ingredients. Gilbert loves chocolate and keeps asking Loula if he can eat it! She does not let him eat the chocolate, because it is for the sister recipe.

When she puts all the ingredients together there is a big surprise!!!

I like the book because I have a sister that is funny, and Loula gets a sister that is funny. My favorite character in the book is Loula because for most of the book she works hard to get what she wants. I would recommend this book to my friends, and to anyone who has sisters.
