When Gus and Leo’s mother gets really sick, the twins don’t know why. They soon learn a poem that their mom calls The Night Poem, but it isn’t a regular poem, it is a spell. The twins also have a sister that refused to speak for her whole life, until now. One night when they were all asleep, a Sea Mink comes to the kid’s room. They thought they were dreaming because Sea Minks were extinct. They learn that this was the last Sea Mink in the whole entire world. He wasn’t a regular Sea Mink though, he was part Folk. The Folk are people who can turn into other creatures. But most of them went into hiding after the war against the Lord of the Black Lakes. They trapped the King on an island surrounded by fog, he couldn’t get past the fog because it was like a wall. A spell was put on the fog that made it a wall but soon the spell might be gone and the King will be free again. I really liked this book because it has some action in it. I think you would like this book.
