Look and Be Grateful

This book talks about being grateful for all you see around you. Everything is a great gift. The book starts with a picture of a beautiful child that wakes up in the morning and looks out his window. He sees the sun, flowers, and ladybugs on them, which he can even pick on his own hand. He says “thank you” as he let the ladybug fly away. He holds a white dove and sees that every day, and every thing that can be seen is something to be grateful for. Even just a simple orange is a gift to be grateful for.

The last picture shows two children sitting next their gifts – the orange, the dove, the ladybug – holding their hands together like when praying, and saying thanks. This book taught me a new word, “Gratitude,” which means to be happy for everything we have. I loved the book and since I have read it, my mom and I decided that every night we hold our hands together and say “we are grateful for everything we have.”
