Little Tree
Little Tree by Loren Long is about not letting go of your leaves. The little trees are all growing and they all have leaves, then fall comes. Fall is when the snow is going to come and the leaves fall off of the trees. But some trees are stronger and they can just hold on to their leaves. That’s the Little Tree. He holds on to his leaves because they are nice, even when other animals are telling him ‘let go of your leaves’. So the Little Tree does, because now he is short. He can’t even see the sun or birds. The Little Tree throws his leaves off and then grows, and grows, and grows. The Little Tree is the same as everyone else and now the bushes on the ground can’t see the sun, but that’s okay they don’t mind. Now the Little Tree is called Humungo Tree!!
This book has nice pictures and I like how the tree grows up and he learns how to let go. We can all need to let go.
