Life Is Like the Wind
When there is wind, things fly and flutter. We can’t see life, but we know when life is there. Life makes the body move, feel and be with us. But, when the wind goes away, kites stop soaring, fur stops flying, trees stop fluttering, and things in life become very still. But where does that wind go? Where does life go when it leaves a body? It might go to a place called heaven, into the ground, or to the stars. We might feel sad, but there are things we can do to feel better.
Life is Like the Wind is a soothing and heartwarming book that focuses on emotive issues that children face in direct and gentle terms, allowing children’s feelings and problems to be more easily shared and discussed with family and friends. This book aims to help children to explore their beliefs, and acknowledge that others may have different ideas about life as well. Shona Innes does a wonderful job conveying a timeless lesson that children will understand. Yes, life is a very precious and funny thing, but like the wind, the life must leave.
