Lantern Sam and the Blue Streak Bandits
Henry went on a train and met a girl, Ellie. They went to see the captain, who had a boy Calico Cat – one out of three million. Henry discovered that he could talk to the cat through mind messages. The master of the train could too, but the girl couldn’t. The cat’s name was Lantern Sam, and he was a detective. Henry notices he left his notebook in the club car, so he went to go get it, but when he came back, Ellie was gone. Henry, Lantern Sam, and the master of the train look all over but can’t find her, so they decide they will follow Lantern Sam. Lantern Sam discovers a huge suitcase spilled over on the floor, and they assume Ellie was kidnapped. Now they have to search for more clues to find Ellie.
I liked this book because there’s a chapter that tells you about the people and then a chapter that tells you about Lantern Sam’s past life. Since most Calico cats are girls, he was called Samantha, so the chapters in between the human ones are called ‘Don’t call me Samantha’. This is a fun and scary book. I hope I get to read more adventures of Lantern Sam!
