Knights, Vikings, and a Battle of the Bands (I Can Read! / Big Idea Books / VeggieTales)
This book is made up of three different stories. They are all stories with VeggieTale characters. The first story is about Princess Petunia, the Knights and the Great Pie Games. The Knights all had pie fights. The Duke of Scones was the nicest. When it was his turn, he heard a child call, “mommy.” He felt bad and went to help the child. Princess Petunia chose Duke of Scones because he helped others.
The next story was about the Vikings. There was a group of good Vikings and bad Vikings. Lyle was in the group of good Vikings. His group was going to a fair. Lyle liked to knit and they laughed at him. After the fair, he saw that the bad Vikings had torn their sail and broken their oars. Lyle was able to help them by sewing the sail together. They were glad that he knew how to sew.
The last story was about the Battle of the Bands, everyone got into a group to play for the contest. Junior didn’t think he could play his tuba good enough to be in a group. Ma Mushroom told him that if he didn’t even try then he had already lost. He went home and prayed for courage to someday play his tuba in front of others. He also practiced. The contest ended in a tie, his friends needed him to win the contest. He decided to go on stage and play with them and they won! I liked this book. I like VeggieTales. I think anyone who knows the VeggieTales would like this book.
