Kings of the Castle
Boris and George are going off to play on the beach. It is nighttime. Boris is a dog, but George is a monster! George wants to make a fantastic sand castle, but Boris keeps messing it up. Suddenly, a weird creature comes out of the sea. George wants to play with him, but they don’t understand each other. The new creature seems to only understand Boris, but Boris is a dog. So George does not understand either of them. Then the creature writes his name in the sand – his name is Nepo. And George writes his name in the sand. (Boris does not write his name in the sand. Boris is a dog.) Together they build the best sand castle ever made in the whole entire big wide world. And they roam the castle until dawn! And then they head for home because they are tired. But they stay friends forever.
This book has fun pictures and a fun story. My favorite picture is at the very end, where they are sitting on beach chairs and they all have sunglasses. Nepo has ice cream, and Boris is sitting on a beach ball. I like how they became friends after all.
