Kingfisher Readers L4: Rivers (Kingfisher Readers. Level 4)
I love this book. I love learning about rivers. I learned about the water cycle, where the sun makes the water evaporate from the rivers. Then it forms as clouds. Then it falls down as rain into the lakes and rivers and streams, and then it flows down into the ocean. Then it happens over and over; that is the cycle of water. Rivers are good homes for plants, like the giant water lilies that are bigger than a person, although they couldn’t hold a person, but a frog could actually just walk around on it. Trees and other plants grow along the rivers and in the water. Lots of animals live in rivers. Deer drink from the river, and fish, and otters, birds, frogs, and reptiles live there too. People use rivers for swimming and carrying things and exploring. Sometimes people build dams on rivers, and sometimes rivers flood. The pictures are really interesting in this book and I like them and I like learning from this book.
