Juega al softbal!Martha Speaks: Play ball! (Bilingual Reader)
Martha the talking dog loves to play catch and asks her friend Truman to throw the ball to her. Truman tells Martha that he does not want to play and that he wants to become a hobo, that rides on trains and sleeps outside. Truman asks Martha to be a hobo with him, which Martha thinks will be fun as long as she is home for dinner. “Hobos never come home,” Truman tells her. Truman wants to leave home because he does not know how to catch a ball and the coach is going to make him play softball the next day. Martha offers to teach Truman how to catch a ball, with help from some their friends Alice, Skits (a dog) and Helen at the park. Does Truman learn to catch a ball for his softball game? You will have to read the book to find out.
