Jinx’s Fire
Jinx of Urwald has started to wonder where Merlin, his mentor, has got to. He has been gone for years now, and Jinx is getting worried. Jinx sets out on a quest to find out what’s happened to Merlin, but there is a war going on between Urwald and Keyland, because Keyland wants Urwald’s trees for building houses. Jinx gets caught up in the war, but he also must travel the paths of Fire and Ice. He finds his roots are deep in the path of Fire, the life force, and that he has powers to set things on fire. But Jinx has to use Ice, the death force, to destroy the Bonemaster, the evil wizard who has Merlin under his power.
This book really gave you a great mental image of what was happening. There was a lot of description. There was a lot action, and I loved the parts where Jinx was struggling to find out what was right, and in the end it turned out right. I wonder if there’s going to be another book; I sure hope there will be!
