Jed and the Junkyard War
This book is about a boy named Jed who has a very strange life and who learns how to survive in the wild without his parents. Then suddenly one day, his parents mysteriously disappear with nothing to give him except a broken watch, a bunch of batteries and water bottles, and some instructions. The instructions say don’t tell anybody your last name and push any red button you see. After that, he goes into a huge junkyard that is as big as a city and gets captured by some pirates in a floating ship who threaten to take his life. And since they only eat food out of cans, he cooks for them, and the pirates really like it, so they let him stay. Once he leads them to treasure, they start respecting him, and they help him find his parents and his lost grandfather. The plot of this story was very exciting, and I didn’t lose interest at all! The characters in this book were very unique in their own little ways. I think ages ten and up could read this book. If you love a great adventure with tons of mysteries, I would definitely recommend this book!
