It’s Up to Charlie Hardin
This book is about a boy named Charlie Hardin. Charlie lives in Texas during World War II. Charlie’s parents sent him out of the house daily because they didn’t want him inside all day. In that time Charlie went on some wonderful adventures like finding the jackpot of coins and finding funny money.
When I first started reading this book it was a little boring. But after I read it a little longer it got pretty good because later in the book there was more excitement. My favorite part of this book is when Charlie finds the stash of money in the pond. It was interesting that the book was back in a time where you could buy a movie ticket for just pennies and a new bike for only fifteen dollars. I wish this book was little more intense at the beginning. Based on the cover and the description of the book, I thought there would be more mention of WWII. By the end of the book I was interested and I wished the book were longer. This book would be great for ten to twelve year olds.
