It’s the Great Pumpkin: The Making of a Television Classic
This book is about the making of a “classic” television show, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The characters in this story are actually the men who helped put together the show. Their names are Lee Mendelson, Bill Melendez, and Charles Schulz. The book was written by Lee Mendelson. Bill Melendez helped, too. This book is so special because I really like Charlie Brown. I even have a Charlie Brown toy. I really like the TV show It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The pictures in this book show Peanuts characters going trick or treating. There are lots of scenes from the television show and Peanuts cartoons. My favorite part is when Linus wrote a letter to the Great Pumpkin. I liked this because I like letters, too. Another good part is this line from the book: “And did you promise them a blockbuster?” Readers who like Charlie Brown will enjoy this book. I also think that if people like seeing how a movie or TV show is made, this would be a good book to read.
