Iris
Iris lives with her mother and her brother, Waltz. Her trouble begins when she decides to fly. She takes an umbrella out to a secret spot; unfortunately it’s windless and Iris soon must go in. The next day at school there’s a new girl named Lotus. She’s really cool with tattoos on her body. She’s nice, too, and gives Iris tattoos as well. However, when Iris’ mom sees the tattoos she gets mad because she wants Iris to be a lady. The next day, though, her mom relaxes and Lotus comes over to get their makeup done. They even dance for a while. The next day, Iris has a very bad day at school, and, that night, she heads to Lotus’ house. However, Iris’ mom comes home late and Iris is already asleep. Soon Iris makes a flying apparatus and gets her mom so mad that she slams Iris into the table so hard that her teeth break. What will happen?
I would recommend this book to ten to twelve years old kids who want to feel better about their parents. I liked it for this reason and because it was based on something true.
