I’m the Best
How many times have you thought “I’m the Best” and then had someone burst your bubble? Probably a bunch, and that is exactly what happens to Little Lion when he brags. But he also learns that he can be “best” at his own thing—like being a big brother.
This cute picture book will have young readers (or listeners) guessing who is going to “best” Little Lion and joining in on the repetitive dialogue. At first I was confused when his little brother shows up, as he looks exactly like Little Lion, but it all made sense by the next page.
The pictures aren’t realistic, but Little Lion’s expressions are adorable and tell a lot about how he’s feeling. The book ends with a good message that everyone is valuable and has their best moments.
I think families with young brothers will probably identify with Little Lion most, but it’s a sweet story for any young reader. I think it would be fun for two-five-year-olds, especially if their parents do good voices like my Dad.
