I’m My Own Dog
This story is about a dog that is his own dog, no one owns him. He works all day, fetches his own slippers, curls up at his own feet, tells himself to roll over, and gives himself a good scratch. This book is really funny. I don’t have a dog, but if I did I would want him to be as cool as this dog. I loved the idea of a dog owning himself and how the adult became the dog’s pet. I loved the part where he got a leash to lead the “little guy” around. I also loved how you always have to clean up after the humans because they make such a mess. This book is hilarious and the pictures are great too. I would tell all my friends to read it. I even brought it to school for my teacher to read to the class. It made all the kids laugh and then we told stories of our pets. I talked about my lizard and tried to imagine him being his own lizard.
