Ice Kissed (The Kanin Chronicles)
Bryn Aven is no normal Kanin. In fact, as half Skojare and half Kanin, Bryn sticks out as a sore thumb in society and as a Tracker. However, when the Skojare Queen mysteriously disappears, Bryn’s Skojare heritage comes in handy, allowing her to blend into Skojare society and investigate the disappearance.
Beyond the Queen’s disappearance, Bryn also has to deal with Konstantin Black and Victor Dalig’s reappearance into society. With Konstantin and Victor threatening war upon Kanin society, Bryn is forced to split her attention between finding the Queen and capturing Konstantin and Victor. Not only does Bryn have to worry about affairs of the state, but she has to face affairs of the heart as well; Bryn’s long unrequited love for Ridley, another Tracker, is finally returned but with costs to both parties.
Follow Bryn as she discovers hidden secrets in the second installment of the Kanin Chronicles.
Ice Kissed fulfilled all promises made in the first installment of the series. Immediately, the reader is drawn back into the world of Trylle right where the last book ended, providing a seamless transition into the plot. The novel is told from the perspective of Bryn, a spunky protagonist, whose human emotions, and flaws, provide a connection for the reader into an otherwise foreign society of trolls. However, the plot branches out into several subplots, leading to a somewhat difficult storyline to follow at times. Hocking leaves Ice Kissed with several questions left to be answered in the next book of the series.
