I Survived the Battle of D-Day, 1944
I Survived The Battle Of D-Day is a book about a boy named Paul and his mother, who suffer through World War II. This story is written from a kid’s perspective and not an adult’s because Paul is just 11 years old during the war. Because it is a chapter book, it doesn’t have many illustrations, but I think it is a very cool book. There are lots of books in the I Survived series, and this one is one of the best. The characters in the story are fictional, but the things that happen in the story are based on real events. The end of the book gives extra factual information about the battle of D-Day. I really like this book and thought it was pretty cool. I read it in one sitting! There are loads of history about World War II in this short book. I recommend this book for kids who are interested in history or the military or war. Ages 8 and up would like this best. Younger kids may not like that it talks about death and suffering through hunger.
