I See the Sun in the USA is a wonderful book about diversity in America. The story follows a young girl Stella Bindi from a blended family. Stella has a Caucasian mother and an Indian father. When Stella and her family decide to take a trip to see a famous USA landmark, she meets many different children with various family types, cultures, and backgrounds. Stella meets a young girl from Mexico that has been adopted that has two mothers. Next, Stella meets an African American boy that has moved away from his family and misses them very much. Stella meets many children from all over the USA during her adventure. Stella learns not only how each child and their family is different from her own but also how they are the same as her family.

I love the illustrations in this book that shows the diversity of each one of the children that Stella meets. This book also includes real-life photos of Mount Rushmore and other landscapes. This book also includes non-fiction facts about Mount Rushmore and other facts about the history of the USA and it’s many people and their cultures.
