I Really Like Slop! (An Elephant and Piggie Book)

Mo Willems does it again in this sequel to the Elephant and Piggie series. I love all the Elephant and Piggies books because I am just starting to read chapter books and sometimes it is fun to read books that are easier. This book reminded me of Green Eggs and Ham, but it is different too. When Gerald does decide to try slop, his reaction is super funny, and we laughed out loud. The ending is cute with one final joke which made all of us giggle. There is a lesson learned in this story, It’s okay if you don’t like something as long as you try it. We talked about this lesson and how we do this in our life sometimes too. There are wonderful pictures that will make you laugh and language that helps tell the story. The entire story is told with Gerald and Piggie (with one line from a fly) talking. I loved that I could read this book all by myself without help from my mom. My brothers and I always love to find the pigeon on the last page of the book too. The Elephant and Piggie books are the best!
