I Escaped the California Camp Fire
I Escaped the California Camp Fire is about Troy and Emma, two kids who survived the California Camp Fire in 2018. When Troy and Emma were left alone because their parents went away for work, they thought they would have a good weekend full of junk food and T.V., but they were very wrong. The day after Troy and Emma’s parents left, they woke up to pitch-blackness outside; it was the smoke from the forest fire. The fire was close to their house, so they had to drive away fast. They couldn’t contact their parents. The traffic was very bad, since everybody was trying to escape. Will Troy and Emma find their parents and drive to safety? I absolutely loved I Escaped the California Camp Fire; I would give it one hundred stars if I could. It kept me at the edge of my seat and I didn’t want to put it down. I liked how at the end of the book, it tells you more about the real California Camp Fire. I learned how long it actually took to burn out and what may have started it. I would recommend I Escaped The California Camp Fire to middle schoolers and maybe kids who are learning about the California Camp Fire. When I read I Escaped The California Camp Fire, it reminded of my grandparents house, which is in a forest, and how I would react in a forest fire.
