Isobel is the responsible one; she makes sure that her sister doesn’t get into trouble. While Isobel’s father is away at war fighting in France, they decide to visit California to see Isobel’s aunt. When Sylvie (Isobel’s little sister) is chasing a boy named Ranger all around Hollywood the sisters decide to join in with some of the trouble. Starting with being in a moving picture (a movie) and they become good friends with Ranger. Isobel is having a good time in California but she is worried about her father. Will Isobel, Ranger and Sylvie finish the movie or will it become a lost cause?

The book takes place during one of the World Wars. This book is exciting and interesting and you never know what is going to happen next. The first few pages are boring but after you get through the first part of the book, it starts getting much more interesting. This book is one of my favorites. It is filled with real life experiences and the characters could have been real people.
