Hunters of the Lost City
The isolated town of Vittoria is the only one left in the world. After a deadly plague and war decimated all civilization, the only things outside the city walls are trees and monsters. At least, that’s what Octavia believes… until a girl comes stumbling into Octavia’s life, a girl who is not Vittorian.
Sima goes against everything Octavia believes. If Vittoria is the only colonization left, where did she come from? If everyone else is supposed to be dead, how do Sima and her family exist? And who is really telling the truth in this world?
This book was very interesting and unique! It has lush world-building, vivid descriptions, and a truly fascinating history tied to Vittoria. While I appreciated the very flowery, dense descriptions, some readers who are not a fan of wordy stories may feel like this book is too slow. While it did lag in a few places, I felt that it was an overall well-paced story.
I loved the characters in this too! Octavia is a strong main character with a complex personality and a strong sense of family loyalty. I would recommend this to anyone who loves vibrant middle-grade fantasy!
