How To Light Your Dragon

This book is about how to get your pet dragon’s fire back if it has gone out. It goes through all the different things to try to get it back. One of my favorite pages is where the dragon and its owner are playing a game of cards. The book says to cheat a lot to try to make him angry. This does not work. Another time, they tell you to bake a cake and put lots of candles on it, so your dragon will want to light them. This does not work either.

First of all, I love dragons. Also, this book is different from others because it’s not just a story, it’s a how-to book. It’s talking to the reader. This book is also very funny. I love the “red hot” deals at the oven store and how the dragon swallows the fake paper flames. There’s a lot to look at in the illustrations. I especially like the page where they remember all the good times they’ve had together. I think this book is good for all age groups because the how-to part is funny for older kids, but the lessons and the love are good for little kids too. Plus, it’s dragons, and who doesn’t like dragons!
