How to (Almost) Ruin you Summer is about a girl named Chloe. She wants a new bike for middle school. She won’t ride a hot pink bike with Dora stickers on it. But her parents won’t give her the money. So Chloe has to work for it.

Chloe wanted to babysit over the summer so she can have money to buy the bike she wants, but her parents sent her to camp for two weeks while they go off on a cruise. So instead of babysitting, she thought of decorating cupcakes for a nearby bakery.

Later at camp, there were different things they could do. Since there was a cake decorating class, Chloe wanted to choose that. When it was time to choose the different electives, the cake class was full so she had to choose the class where you take care of animals. Chloe had to take care of a goat named King Arthur. That goat was intent on Chloe’s destruction. Another bad thing at camp was that one of her cabin mates, Victoria, was the captain so she had assigned everyone to jobs. Chloe and a girl named Paulie were assigned to clean the toilets.

It’s been a bad start at camp so far, but you can read the book to find out if camp will ever get better for Chloe. This book is a good book because it takes Chloe on an interesting adventure that she thought would never happen. It was a good thing that it happened because she found something else that she could do to earn money.
