Hoppelpopp and the Best Bunny
This story is about five bunnies that sleep together, eat together, and play together. Then, one day a strange bunny comes to see the bunnies. His name is Hoppelpopp. He asks the bunnies which ones are the fastest, the strongest, the smartest, and the bravest. He has them do all sorts of competitions to find out the winners. After the competitions, all the bunnies start fighting. They stop sleeping together, eating together, and playing together until another stranger comes along. This time it is an enemy–a badger. One of the bunnies has an idea for all of them to chase the badger away. It works! After that, the bunnies get along.
I like this story a lot. I like how the bunnies’ names all begin with the letter “B”–Binny, Benny, Bernie, Bonnie, and Buddy. The bunnies are also different colors, so you can tell them a part. One even has spots on his ears. I don’t have any favorite pictures. What I do like about this story the best is that it teaches how important it is to work as a team instead of trying to figure out who is the best. And, that’s why I think other kids should read this book.
