Hooray for Hat!

Have you ever had a bad day and woke up grumpy? That is the way Elephant feels when he wakes up one morning. I have felt that way many mornings, so I know how Elephant was feeling. But then Elephant gets a surprise at his door, it’s a hat. Elephant marches off to show his friends, they are feeling grumpy too. This is a story of how friends can help cheer each other up and how to turn a bad grumpy day into a happy, sharing, hat wearing, parade marching day. I liked this book; it made me happy and smile. I liked the giraffe’s hat the best. The elephant in this book reminded me of the elephant in the Elephant and Piggy series by Mo Willems because both elephants can be grumpy at times but they are lucky they have good friends to cheer them up. My favorite part was the page where Elephant first tried on his new hat; I liked the full page spread. I am going to tell all my friends about this book.
