Hildie Bitterpickles Needs Her Sleep
Hildie Bitterpickles is a witch who lives in a quiet neighborhood with her cat, Clawdia. Then when some new neighbors move in, Hildie can’t sleep at night because of all the noise they make. A giant in a beanstalk has a loud elevator, a woman who lives in a shoe has a bunch of kids who make noise all night, and a wolf blows the roof off Hildie’s house. Hildie Bitterpickles needs her sleep, so she searches for a new home. She tries living with three blind mice, but they keep her up with all their tinkering. Hildie tried living with some black sleep but they keep her up with all their baa-ing. Will Hildie ever be able to get some sleep?
I loved Hildie Bitterpickles Needs Her Sleep. It was fun how all the different fairy tales are in one story, and I liked when the wolf accidently blew the roof off Hildie’s house instead of the little pig’s house. The illustrations were bright, colorful, and help tell so much more to the story. I think other kids would love Hildie Bitterpickles Needs Her Sleep and it would be a great book when learning about mixed up fairy tales.
