Heroes of Flight: Who Changed the World

Heroes of Flight takes you on an exciting journey through the world of aviation. You will meet Igor Sikorsky, who invented the helicopter, Otto Lilienthal, who was known as “the Glider King,” and of course Amelia Earhart. Learn how the Wright brothers became obsessed with flight. The world of aviation has expanded a lot and will keep expanding, from hot-air balloons, to early gliders, to the first helicopter, to breaking the sound barrier.

Books like this one are cool because there are not very many nonfiction and educational graphic novels. The colorful, creative illustrations are very realistic. I think older kids would like this because it is informative with a touch of humor. The Graphic Greats series includes books like Heroes of Space, Heroes of Science, and Heroes of Discovery. I think this book has a positive message because it shows kids to what extent people will follow their dreams, and it encourages them to chase their own. If you like to learn and have fun at the same time, this book is for you. Flight is amazing, and I hope you like learning about it!
