Henry is about to say his first word, and his parents are really excited about it. Everyone is wondering what his word is going to be, but Henry does not know what a word will actually look like. He is wondering why everyone seem so eager to hear a word, since he says words like “beep boop” or “woo woo” all the time. But nobody seem to understand those, and it takes a long time for mama to figure out what Henry is trying to ask for, every time!

So, Henry decided to look for the words. Except that he does not know what the words look like, and there is nothing that could resemble a word in the places he looks into: his crib, his blankie, his toy box. Are words big, small, long, short? No idea. Then, he asks his friends: the birdie, the cat, the bunny, but nobody is able to help. Then, he looks for mama, and he can’t see her. He gets scared, and starts crying, and with the crying comes the hiccups which Henry hates! And then, he felt something in his chest and screams: “MAMA!!!”. Mama came right away and she was to happy that he said his first word. It sounds good to Henry too, and he’s so excited that it uses the word the entire time.

I did not find this book too fun, it was a little boring to find out when he was going to say his first word. Note from Mom: probably more interesting for 2 year olds.
