Hello World: Animals: an Amazing Atlas of Wildlife

This is a great educational, non-fiction, lift-the-flap book. It feels like there are constantly new things to discover in this book! The sections are broken up into continents, each having its own set of animals from that area of the world. There are pictures of animals on the outside of flaps, with the name and facts about each animal inside.

One example of the cool things in the book is that there is an interesting fact circle about the life cycle of the Alaskan salmon. After the egg hatches, an alevin feeds from its yolk sac and grows as it continues to live in its redd (salmon nest). I had no idea there were so many different stages to their life cycle!

One of my favorite animals is the Komodo dragon. He is found in the Indonesian islands. I also like the Mandarin duck. He is very colorful! The males are more colorful than the females so they can attract females for mating.

The animals in this book are drawn very nicely, and they have good facts. I love nature, so any books that relate to nature appeal to me! I highly recommend it to other fellow nature-lovers!
