Helen of Troy Tells All: Blame the Boys

Here is a funny retelling of the Trojan War from a different point of view. Most know that the ten year war was caused by the kidnapping of the Queen, Helen. The Greeks fought to get her back. It was hard so they made the Trojan Horse to hide in and make a surprise attack on Troy to end the war. The story is the same in this new book. This book differs from the standard in who is to blame for the war. Of course Helen doesn’t want to be blamed so she points the finger and everyone else!

I enjoyed this book. I think it offers a modern and funny twist to a classic story. I think this will lead more kids to want to learn more about the Trojan War. I think the story is still pretty factual so kids will learn something from the book. There are even discussions questions at the end to further learning. This book would be a perfect addition to a school or classroom library. I highly recommend this fun and educational book!
