Heir to the Sky
Three hundred years ago, monsters roamed the earth and destroyed everything. Luckily, The Phoenix took compassion on the humans and threw four islands into the sky to save them. Humans lived in prosperity on these islands for three hundred years, safe from all monsters that roamed earth. This is where Kali, Heir to the Monarch of Ashra, lives. Everything seems to be fine, until Kali falls off the edge of her beloved continent. She miraculously survives her fall to earth, and there she meets a monster hunter named Griffin. They set off across earth to return to Ashra, but as she travels, she realizes that Ashra is not what she thought it was. She begins to realize that she not only needs to get home for her safety, but to save her continent as well.
Heir to the Sky, an exciting mixture of dystopian, adventure, and fantasy written by Amanda Sun is an amazing story. I really, really liked this book. I loved how each character had a separate story to tell, each exciting in their own way. I am thinking about reading Amanda Sun’s other books; Ink, Sky, and Rain. I really liked Heir to the Sky,, and I hope these books are just like it.
